Kadoya
About This Spot
Stepping into Kadoya on rue Sainte-Anne feels a bit like uncovering a vibrant little corner of Japan tucked into the heart of Paris. The bustling street outside melts away as you enter a warmly lit, spirited space where the rhythm teeters somewhere between the lively energy of a busy weekday evening and the quiet satisfaction of a shared meal among friends. It’s not a place for slow, lingering visits but rather one that invites you to dive promptly into comforting flavors and familiar warmth.
The atmosphere hums with gentle chatter, occasional bursts of laughter, and the clinks of bowls and chopsticks—a modest symphony that feels authentic and unpretentious. Tables are close enough to remind you of the neighborly closeness often found in Tokyo’s ramen shops, making the air buzz with a sense of communal dining. The team’s welcoming presence adds a subtle grace to the lively pace, gently guiding you through the menu and ensuring your meal arrives with a satisfying warmth and freshness.
Here, the experience unfolds through each dish, like the crispy-edged gyoza that crackle pleasantly under your bite, or the rich, velvety depth of a katsu curry that somehow captures the heartiness of home cooking without any fuss. For ramen lovers, bowls arrive steaming and balanced, a delicate interplay between broth and toppings that feels both genuine and thoughtfully composed—never overly salted or heavy, but just right to lift a cloudy Paris day.
The beauty of Kadoya lies not just in its food but in how it reflects the everyday moments of Japanese dining—the friendly exchanges, the steady flow of regulars and newcomers alike, and the quiet satisfaction that settles in when a meal feels both familiar and a little special. It’s an inviting detour for anyone seeking more than a quick bite—a genuine taste of Japan’s culinary soul framed by the spirited life of Paris.

i am not a big fan of ramen soup but since i was within the area and it was cloudy (bit rainy too), so i decided to have a ramen soup. This is my 2nd time in this authentic japanese restaurant..Last time was in 2022. Soup was served in 10mins. It was good, with freshly cooked ingrédients and meat. not salty at all like most of my past ramens. Waitress was so corteous . Will try a non ramen dish if ever i come back.

Rue St. Anne. So many Japanese eateries here, that it's hard to choose. Kadoya was buzzing, but they had a free table and I dived in. Great Gyoza. Very satisfying Teriyaki Don, Friendly service. Good prices. Arigato gozaimasu !

Kadoya was a spur of the moment decision while we were in Paris and I will say if you are in need of a solid, quick, and fulfilling meal I wouldn’t hesitate to go here. If you really care about the best Japanese food in town you probably won’t be super satisfied. We had a positive experience overall with the food being good, the staff being friendly, and us leaving full and satisfied.

My go-to for Japanese comfort food. I love everything about this restaurant. Dishes are served piping hot. Tasty and generous serving.
